Wood Floors
What's Included
Wood floors set the tone for a whole house. Whether you're putting wood into rooms that had carpet or fixing a section that was damaged by water, the result depends on the subfloor and the details at the edges — baseboards, thresholds, and where one floor meets another. We plan those details before the first board goes down.
- New wood floor installation
- Removal of existing carpet or flooring
- Replacement of damaged or water-stained boards
- Subfloor inspection and repair before installation
- Baseboards, quarter round and shoe molding
- Transitions and thresholds between rooms

Wood Floors FAQs
Should I refinish my wood floors or replace them?
Solid wood floors with surface wear can often be sanded and refinished. Replacement makes more sense when boards are cupped, badly water-damaged, too thin to sand again, or when you want a different look entirely. Engineered wood has a thinner wear layer, so it can only be refinished a limited number of times, if at all.
What's the difference between solid and engineered wood flooring?
Solid wood is one piece of hardwood all the way through. Engineered wood has a real hardwood top layer bonded to a plywood or composite core, which makes it more dimensionally stable when humidity changes. Both are real wood on the surface.
Why do wood floors need to acclimate?
Wood expands and contracts with humidity. Letting the flooring sit in the home before installation, as the manufacturer recommends, helps reduce gaps and cupping later on.
